THE MINI SESSIONS
If you’re looking for a Seattle mini session with a natural, open feel, Discovery Park is such a beautiful option. Mini sessions typically take place in the open field areas near the South Parking Lot, with soft grasses, wide paths, and plenty of space for kids to move around. It has a relaxed, unstructured feel that works really well for candid moments, while still giving us clean, simple backgrounds that keep the focus on your family. Because there’s less tree cover here, sessions are timed carefully to make the most of soft, flattering light. You can expect a short walk from the parking lot, and the open space tends to feel calm and uncrowded once we get there. It’s an easy, natural setting that is so beautiful in the summer and fall.

When it comes to posing, you don’t need to worry about a thing! I’ll guide you through the entire process with “poses” that are super easy and natural. And don't worry about your kids. I'm well versed in capturing even the busiest of little ones.

Parts of Discovery Park are accessible, but it’s a larger park with some uneven trails and elevation changes. From the South Parking Lot, there’s a short walk to the session location, typically along gravel or dirt paths. If you have specific mobility needs, let me know ahead of time and I’ll plan a spot that works best for you.

Although payments are non-refundable due to high demand of mini sessions, you are welcome to gift your session to a friend or family member if you're unable to make it. To keep myself and my other clients healthy, I do offer flexible rescheduling options for illness.

I'll keep an eye on the forecast, and if we're expecting rain, unsafe levels of smoke, or some other weather catastrophe, we’ll reschedule to a different date—something that’s sometimes necessary with Seattle weather conditions.! I'll send you a list of available dates/times. We should be able to get you rescheduled no problem, but if for some reason our schedules don't align, I'll give you a full refund.

Once you book, I’ll send a detailed style guide to help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully and feel like you. In general, neutral tones, soft colors, and coordinating (not matching) outfits work really well.

Yes! Leashed dogs are allowed in the areas of Discovery Park where I host mini sessions, which makes it a great option if you’d like to include your pup.

What to know about your Discovery Park mini session
You’ll park at the Discovery Park South Parking Lot at Discovery Park. This lot is closest to where mini sessions typically take place, but it can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. I highly recommend arriving early so you have plenty of time to find parking and walk to our meeting spot without feeling rushed.
